EMI participates in the Stakeholder Workshop on Linking Disaster Risk Governance and Land Use Planning

EMI was invited by the School of Urban and Regional Planning of the University of the Philippines (U.P. SURP) to participate in the Stakeholder Workshop on Linking Disaster Risk Governance and Land Use Planning, which was held from Feb. 1-2, 2018. EMI was represented by its Technical Director, Mr. Jose Mari Daclan, who shared insights from our experiences in implementing projects on risk-sensitive land use planning and urban redevelopment.

The workshop is part of a research project to determine suitable, sustainable and socially acceptable solutions for informal settlements in hazard-prone areas in the Philippines. The study is being conducted by U.P. SURP, in partnership with Technische Universität Dortmund, University of Stuttgart, and United Nations University.
