The National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET) has partnered with the Earthquakes and Megacities Initiative (EMI) to implement Risk Sensitive Land Use Planning (RSLUP) in Nepal. NSET and EMI will provide technical support through consultations, dialogues (two rounds), advocacy and planning for integration of land use planning in local planning processes and building by-laws in selected municipalities.
This project is in support of the Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Programme (CDRMP) in accordance with the Nepal Risk Reduction consortium. The CDRMP aims to strengthen the institutional and legislative aspects of DRM in Nepal, by building the capacities of Ministry of Home Affairs, other ministries, and local governments. The CDRMP will also establish strategic linkages between DRM and development sectors in Kathmandu Vallet.
